All sequence data and metadata is stored on the SeqSphere server. Therefore, the SeqSphere client can simply be installed on a new computer without migrating any data.

However, the pipeline scripts are stored locally in the SeqSphere client (as they may contain local file paths).

There are two options to move them to the new computer:

  • Copies of the pipeline scripts that were run are also stored on the server, and can be imported again using "Options | Browse Pipeline Reports". This is recommended if only a few of the old pipeline scripts are still needed.
  • The pipeline scripts are stored as XML files in the sub-directory "pipeline_scripts" in the profile directory (e.g., "C:\Users\<user>\seqsphere\pipeline_scripts" on Windows, or "/home/<user>/.seqsphere/pipeline scripts" on Linux).

The "pipeline_scripts" directory can simply be copied to the profile directory of the newly installed SeqSphere client. This is recommended if all existing pipeline scripts should be moved to the new computer.
