Query MIRU-VNTRplus for MtbC15-9 nomenclature. This results in a numerical code (the MtbC15-9 type) that was established to harmonize the MIRU-VNTR nomenclature. The MtbC15-9 type is defined by combination of a type based on the 15 loci (MtbC15) of the discriminatory subset and a type based on the 9 auxiliary loci (MtbC9). The MtbC15-9 type is displayed as a combination, e.g. 11-22, where "11" is the MtbC15 type and "22" is the MtbC9 type.

15 most discriminatory loci 424, 577, 580, 802, 960, 1644, 1955, 2163b, 2165, 2401, 2996, 3192, 3690, 4052, 4156
9 auxiliary loci 154, 2059, 2347, 2461, 2531, 2687, 3007, 3171, 4348

To make sure that the MIRU-VNTR columns have the correct names, the command Rename MIRU-VNTR columns to default can be used.

  • Name of nomenclature column: a column where the retrieved information is stored. An unused column name must be specified.

Submitting new MtbC15-9 codes

To submit new MtbC15-9 codes a user's contact data must be provided. The fields for first name, last name, email-address, organization and country must be filled. Furthermore, the column that contains the id for the Samples must be specified.
Submitting new MtbC15-9 codes only works with registered software, not with demonstration or evaluation versions.

Please note: If submitted, the MLVA MtbC15/MtbC9 VNTR patterns for new types are permanently stored in the MIRU-VNTRplus database. In addition, the MLVA MtbC15-9 combination and the strain IDs of the strains with new types are stored, together with the contact data provided above and the program's serial number. No other data is stored in the database. The submitted information will not be used for any other purpose and will not be provided to third parties.
