All changes on Samples are logged. These can be the modified value of a database field, an editing in the DNA sequences or any other change that modifies the Sample.

For each change the following information is logged:

• User that performs the modification
• Date and time
• The modified item (e.g. name of DNA sequence)
• Description about the modification

The audit trail for a Sample is shown in an extra panel below the navigation bar and the editor pane. It can be toggled using the Show Sample audit trail button in the Sample Overview.
