System Requirements for Server

Recommended for working with large amounts of NGS data

• OS: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit, Microsoft Windows Server 2012 64-bit, or Linux 64-bit (Ubuntu LTS recommended)
• RAM: 16 GB
• CPU: Quad-core processor or better
• HD: 2 TB (depending on the amount of data that should be stored; RAID level 1 or 5 recommended)

Minimum requirements to run the server

(e.g., for working with Sanger data or testing the SeqSphere+ tutorials)

• OS: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 or Linux (Ubuntu LTS recommended)
• RAM: 4 GB
• CPU: Dual-core processor
• HD: 200 GB (depending on the amount of data that should be stored)

Especially for evaluation the client and the server can be installed on the same computer.

Recommended for working with NGS data

• OS: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit
• RAM: 16 GB. 32 GB are recommended if Velvet de novo assembler is used.
• CPU: Quad-core processor or better
• HD: 500 GB
• Internet connection required to use public MLST schemas, MLST+ Nomenclature Server & Task Template Store

Minimum requirements to run the client

(e.g., for working with Sanger data or testing the SeqSphere+ tutorials)

• OS: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 or Linux (Ubuntu LTS recommended)
• RAM: 4 GB
• CPU: Dual-core processor
• HD: 300 MB free
• Internet connection required to download public MLST schemas

Especially for evaluation the client and the server can be installed on the same computer.
