The NCBI Genome Browser shows a list with the bacterial genomes that are available at NCBI. This list is up-to-date with the genomes available at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genome. Right-click in the table to open related pages in your Web Browser.

The genomes nucleotide accessions are taken from three databases:

  • RefSeq
  • INSDC
  • WGS

The genomes can have one of the four states:

  • Complete Genome
  • Chromosome
  • Scaffold
  • Contig

Depending on the function that opens the genome browser, the scaffold and contig genomes may not be selectable (e.g. for cgMLST reference genome).

The field Genome Data Set define which data sequence(s) should be downloaded: Chromosome or Plasmids. The field Organsim Name can be used filter the complete list of genomes for just one organism (Press cursor key left to auto-complete a text).

Select rows in the table and click OK to use the accession numbers for an an NCBI download.
