Defining Targets by Allele Libraries

This wizard workflow can be used to define a Task Template for one target or multiple targets using allele libraries in FASTA format. Only nucleotide sequences can be used. This wizard is useful to add MLST schemes that are not available by Create from a predefined MLST scheme or to add sequences for single locus typing (SLST).

One target is created for each allele library. An Allele Typing query library using the given alleles is added to the created Task Template. Note that this query library cannot be expanded by new query results.

Dynamic reference sequence

After importing allele libraries, it is possible to select which kind of Reference Sequence should be used:

  • The reference sequence for the target can be set to the first sequence in the allele library.
  • However, if the sequences greatly differ (e.g. SLST that is based on repetitive sequences) it can be useful to use the allele sequence that best matches a given Sample sequence as dynamic reference sequence.

After adding a library it is possible to choose which kind of reference sequence (fixed or dynamic) should be used. The other target parameters for the targets can be adjusted in a later step for all targets at once.
