General Hints
- USB-ports at the keyboard and USB-ports at the front side of the computer can sometimes cause problems. Please use a port on the back side of your computer.
- If you want to re-install Ridom StaphType, it is necessary that you reboot your computer after uninstalling it. Otherwise the WIBU-BOX driver may not correctly being installed.
Step-by-Step Guide
Please go through the following steps to ensure, that no installation problem may be the reason for the WIBU-BOX recognition failure.
- Remove the WIBU-BOX from the USB-port.
- Uninstall Ridom StaphType
- Reboot the computer.
- Open the "Windows Control Panel", and go to "Remove Programs". Search for the name "WibuKey Setup (WibuKey Remove)" in the program list. If it exists, uninstall it and reboot the computer.
- Install Ridom StaphType from the software download Site.
- Insert the WIBU-BOX into an USB-port on the back side of your computer.
- Check the messages and progress in the lower right corner of your Windows desktop. ("New Hardware Found: WIBU-BOX/U")
- Wait until the new hardware was detected and installed by Windows.
- Start Ridom StaphType and login.
- If the WIBU-Box is till not found: Open the "Windows Control Panel", and go to "Remove Programs". Search for the name "WibuKey Setup (WibuKey Remove)" in the program list. If it exists, uninstall it and reboot the computer.
- Download and install the WIBU-Box driver from the WIBU download site.
- Reboot the computer and start StaphType again.
